Cricket Formats and Competitions

6s Cricket Betting Markets Overview

The three cricket formats each offer a different kind of experience. T20 is the fastest — results come within a few hours, so the betting markets are straightforward. In ODI, the pace varies across 50 overs and tactics shift mid-game. In Test matches, you need to account for pitch behaviour, weather and the gap between innings across five days — it is the most complex format.

For cricket fans in Bangladesh, BPL is a highlight of the calendar. Live markets move very quickly in each franchise match. In IPL, the top batsman market draws more interest as world-class batters are on show. The number of markets increases for every Bangladesh Tigers match at the T20 World Cup and other ICC events. At 6s you can place bets separately for matches across all these competitions.

Alongside cricket, 6s also offers betting on football and other sports. In football there are three possible results — home win, draw or away win — so the odds structure is different. Cricket's two-sided result (no draw in T20 or ODI) often produces cleaner odds.

Popular Betting Markets

Match Winner

Pick which of the two teams will win. There is no draw in T20 or ODI — one team wins. The simple structure makes this market a good starting point for newcomers.

Easiest

Toss Winner

Bet on which team will win the toss before the match starts. The result is completely independent — ground conditions or team strength have no bearing here. Odds are usually close because both outcomes are equally likely.

Quick Result

Top Batsman

Pick which batter will score the most runs in a specific innings. A team's in-form batter has a better chance — but a wicket can fall at any time.

Skill Market

Total Runs (Over/Under)

Choose whether the total runs in an innings will go above a set line (over) or stay below it (under). Pitch conditions and the batting lineup can inform your view on this market.

Two Options

Multi Bet

Combining selections from multiple matches or markets multiplies the odds together — so even a small stake can return a larger amount. However, if any one selection is wrong, the entire bet is lost.

High Risk

Next Wicket / Over Runs

Bet on what happens next — whether a wicket will fall on the next ball or in the next over, or how many runs will be scored in a specific over. These in-play markets shift in real time with the flow of the live game.

Learn to Read Odds

The same odds can be written in three different formats — decimal, fractional and American. 6s generally uses decimal format, but understanding the other formats makes it easier to compare information across different sites.

Example 1 — Three formats together (Team A to win, stake ৳1,000)
Decimal 2.25 = Fractional 5/4 = American +125
If you win, return: ৳2,250 (profit ৳1,250 + original stake ৳1,000); if you lose, ৳1,000 is gone.

Fractional format 5/4 means ৳5 profit for every ৳4 staked. American +125 means ৳125 profit on a ৳100 stake. All three express the same outcome.

Example 2 — Favourite's odds (Team B to win, stake ৳1,000)
Decimal 1.25 = Fractional 1/4 = American -400
If you win, return: ৳1,250 (profit ৳250); the American minus odds show how much you need to stake to make ৳100 profit.

Decimal odds above 1.00 mean you get back more than your stake — 1.00 means no profit. A favourite's odds are usually low, around 1.25, while an underdog's odds are 2.00 or higher.

Live In-Play Betting

6s Live In-Play Cricket Betting

Once a match starts, odds shift with every ball — that is the core appeal of in-play betting. When a wicket falls, the batting side's odds rise quickly and the bowling side's fall. If a chasing team still needs 100 runs in 15 overs after losing five wickets, their odds of winning drop.

In the over-by-over run line market you can bet on how many runs will be scored in, say, the 15th over. When a pace bowler comes on in the death overs against big hitters, the chance of a wicket rises — and the live market reflects that immediately.

Live betting moves fast. 6s's mobile experience shows odds updates quickly, making it convenient to place in-play bets. Betting is always for entertainment — keep that in mind when placing your bets.

Multi Bet and Cricket Match Winner Examples

Cricket Match Winner (Decimal)

In a limited-overs match, Team A's odds are 1.80 and Team B's are 2.00. A ৳500 bet on Team B returns ৳1,000 if Team B wins (profit ৳500); if Team A wins, ৳500 is lost.

Result: Team B wins → ৳1,000 returned (৳500 stake + ৳500 profit).
Team A wins → ৳500 lost.

Multi Bet — 3 Selections

Three separate matches with decimal odds of 1.40, 1.60 and 1.90. Combined odds: 1.40 × 1.60 × 1.90 = 4.26 (approximately).

Stake ৳100: If all three win, return ৳426.
If any one loses, the full ৳100 is lost.

A multi bet offers higher returns but also higher risk — every selection must be correct.

Football and Other Sports

Football betting has three main outcomes — home win, draw and away win. Because of these three options, the odds on each are generally higher than in cricket's two-sided markets. Since there is no draw in T20 or ODI cricket, there are only two outcomes — many bettors find this simpler.

Besides cricket and football, 6s also offers betting on other sports. Each sport has its own market structure — some are based on point spreads, others on totals or over/under.

Cricket vs Football

  • Cricket T20/ODI: 2 outcomes — no draw
  • Football: 3 outcomes — home, draw, away
  • Test cricket: draw possible — 3 outcomes
  • Live in-play markets are available for both sports

Useful Betting Tips

  • Start by focusing on one market. Match winner is straightforward — once you are comfortable, move on to top batsman or over/under.
  • Set a fixed amount you are comfortable losing. Betting is entertainment, not a source of income.
  • In live markets, watch how odds move rather than rushing in. Understanding how much odds shift before and after a wicket falls is useful.
  • Adding too many selections to a multi bet increases the risk. Starting with 2–3 selections is better.
  • Do not try to recover losses by placing a bigger bet after a loss — this is the most common mistake.
  • Regular bettors in the 6s 6s VIP programme can earn up to 1.5% weekly cashback — it is an added benefit alongside your betting.

Common questions and answers

T20 is the easiest — matches are short, results come quickly, and there are only two possible outcomes. In ODIs, momentum shifts several times during the middle overs, making in-play betting more interesting. In Test matches, pitch conditions, weather and the possibility of a draw all come into play across five days, so there is more room for analysis.

When an important wicket falls, the batting side's chances of winning decrease — so their decimal odds rise and the bowling side's odds fall. A solid or growing partnership gradually brings the batting side's odds down. In live markets, these changes are visible after every ball.

Both are T20 franchise tournaments, so the core market structure is the same — match winner, top batsman, over/under. In BPL, local bettors have a better read on domestic players' form, which makes analysis easier. In IPL, team balance and the form of international players carry more weight.

You can generally combine match winner or top batsman selections from separate matches to build a multi bet. Markets from the same match that depend on each other (such as toss winner and match winner) may not always be allowed together — it is worth checking the platform's rules.

At 6s you can bet through both a web browser and the mobile app. Apps for Android and iOS are available through the official channel. For live in-play betting, odds updates appear faster on the mobile app.
